Regional Conference

The WAM has held a conference each year since 1960 in support of these objectives. In general these conferences have been held somewhere in California one year, and somewhere outside California in the Western region the next. The WAM has developed a distinctive culture, which emphasizes collegiality, informality, and creativity.

International Conference

Since 1990, the WAM has sponsored an international conference which is held around July in even years (the Eastern Academy of Management holds them on odd years.) The first was held in 1990 in Shizuoka. Forthcoming international conferences will be announced on the WAM web site.

Journal of Management Inquiry

The WAM also sponsors The Journal of Management Inquiry, a quarterly journal which is intended to provide a forum for many good articles which don't fulfill the requirements of current journals. It began publication in 1992 by Sage, and has been the fastest startup in their history.
