Do I have to be a WAM member to attend?

Yes. When you register for the conference, you can also sign up for the annual WAM membership; it's all together. No need to do it separately.

Do I need an accepted paper/presentation to attend?

No! Anyone interested in management research is welcome. You can simply register with the link.

What is the registration price?

Click the link and you'll see the price for early bird registration until Feb. 1 or regular registration until March 1. Student pricing available.

 

What else do I need to know about for registration? Is there a special event?

When you're registering, you'll have the option to add on a networking event Friday night for an additional fee. (A Taste of the Okanagan: A special evening showcasing the Okanagan Valley's culinary and beverage scene, allowing WAM 2025 attendees to savor a variety of local flavors while meeting and mixing with other WAM 2025 colleagues. A perfect atmosphere for networking and enjoyment while appreciating the region's hospitality.)

Is there a consortia or professional development?

Yes, we have a pre-doctoral, doctoral, and junior faculty consortia. Check out info here: https://www.wamonline.org/consortia For this, you need to apply separately from registering. There is a brief online application. If you're accepted, the consortia is comped (i.e., free), but you still have to register and pay for the conference. If you're a student, you'll get the student rate.

I was notified I have an INSPIRATIONAL PAPER presentation; what does this mean?

In this presentation format, you will be given five minutes to present a concise and impactful delivery of your research. Short PowerPoints are encouraged. Then, the audience members will follow with a seven-to-ten-minute question and answer period with the author(s). The goal of each Inspirational Paper session is to provide a collaborative, real-time discussion to elicit rich idea generation for next steps in your research.

 

When is the hotel booking deadline and hotel cost?

CAD$259.00 per night* (Standard Room; bed type not guaranteed) - Special WAM 2025 room rate; available until Tuesday, February 26, 2025 *Hotel room rates are subject to applicable provincial and local taxes in effect at the time of check-out. Current taxes are 5% GST, 8% PST, and 3% Destination Marketing Fee (Parking: CAD$36; valet: CAD$56)

• Identify that you would like to reserve a room taking advantage of the special WAM 2025 rate

• Dates of arrival and departure

• Number of guests

• Billing – pay own; master; paid with a 3d party credit card

 

WAM 2025 special rate may be applied according to room availability.

What documents do I need for Canada?

You'll definitely need a Passport if you're coming from outside Canada. See the link "Canada travel info" for details.
